Diving in Samana, Las Galeras |
Las Galeras features the best adventure diving on the north coast of the Dominican Republic. The rocky coastline boasts high cliffs leading to a fasinating underwater world rising from 165 feet to 15 feet below the surface. Underwater visibility ranges from 100 to 150 feet. During the winter season, whales can be seen and heard underwater as they migrate toward Silver Shoals. For advanced divers, there is the site known as The Tower. This underwater pinnacle rises from 165 feet. Down below at 40 feet, views are serene and majestic.
In Las Galeras, we have several diving schools. If you are a beginner, you can learn how to dive and pass your PADI open water exam. If you are already an experienced diver, you can rent your material in the schools and go diving with a professional guide.
The aquatic fauna and flora of Las Galeras is one of the most beautful of the island. But don't take my word for it, come and see for yourself!
